RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Bank Indonesia Governor, Perry Warjiyo, has outlined three main pillars to serve as the foundation for boosting the national economy through 2026-2027. These three keywords, Optimism, Commitment, and Synergy (OKS), were introduced during the launch of the 2025 Indonesian Economic Report (LPI) in Jakarta on Wednesday, 28 January 2026.
The first pillar, optimism, is based on solid economic performance throughout 2025. Bank Indonesia projects that this positive trend will continue over the next two years, driven by strong economic fundamentals and sustained domestic consumption.
Regarding growth figures, the governor stated, "In 2026, we estimated that the economic growth will range from 4.9% to 5.7%, with a midpoint of 5.3%. We expect it to increase further to between 5.1% and 5.9% in 2027."
The second pillar is commitment. He has affirmed that Bank Indonesia will remain at the forefront of maintaining the stability of the Rupiah. Monetary policy will be managed carefully, including plans for a gradual reduction in interest rates in alignment with declining inflation.
This concrete step was taken to provide the real sector with more "room to maneuver" through consistently accommodative macroprudential policies. In this regard, the Governor said, “Bank Indonesia is committed to formulating and implementing a policy mix that maintains stability while encouraging sustainable economic growth. This includes monetary policy, macroprudential measures, payment systems, financial market deepening, and the development of the people's economy.”
The final pillar, synergy, integrates all policies to optimize their impact on the community. Perry underscored that collaboration between the government, the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK), banks, and academics is like a "strong broom" - more effective when bound together for a single purpose.
This synergy will focus on five strategic areas, ranging from maintaining macroeconomic stability to strengthening the real sector through the downstreaming of natural resources and industrialization. Additionally, digitalization and "people's economy" programs remain priorities to ensure more inclusive economic growth.
The launch of LPI 2025, themed “Resilient and Independent: Synergy Driving Higher and More Sustainable Economic Growth,” also serves as a platform to demonstrate the central bank's professionalism. The event is a manifestation of Bank Indonesia's commitment to policy transparency, credibility, and public accountability.
