RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Finance has begun offering Retail Government Bonds (ORI) series ORI029 with three-year and six-year tenors. The offering period opened on Monday, January 26, 2026, and will run until February 19.

“This instrument is designed for individuals who want to grow financially,” said Acting Director of Government Bonds (SUN) Novi Puspita Wardani during a media briefing at the Ministry’s office in Jakarta on Monday. She added that the bonds carry low risk because they are legally guaranteed.

Novi explained that the government guarantees both principal and interest payments at maturity. “The potential for default is almost zero because two laws cover it,” she said.

The first is the State Budget Law, which annually allocates funds for payments, and the second is the Government Bond Law, which obliges the government to pay principal and interest at redemption.

She emphasized that ORI029 is particularly suitable for first-time investors. The bonds are affordable, with a minimum purchase of IDR 1 million (USD 59.63). The maximum purchase is IDR 5 billion for the three-year tenor and IDR 10 billion for the six-year tenor.

The fixed interest rate is 5.45 percent per annum for the three-year tenor and 5.8 percent for the six-year tenor, payable monthly. “ORI029 is also tradeable, so investors have the potential to make a profit if they sell at a higher price,” Novi said.

The Ministry of Finance is targeting to raise IDR 25 trillion from the ORI029 offering. The proceeds will be used to support state budget financing, particularly infrastructure development and priority government programs.

On the same occasion, Senior Vice President of PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) Dessy Nathalia expressed the bank’s commitment as a distribution partner for ORI029. “We provide convenience for people who want to invest in ORI029,” she said.

Dessy highlighted the certainty of stable returns as one of the instrument’s main attractions. “Even if interest rates fall, the returns will remain unchanged,” she said.
