RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is seeking investment from major global technology companies on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, as part of follow-up efforts to Indonesia–United States trade tariff negotiations.

Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the government used the WEF platform to engage with leading technology firms, particularly from the United States, to explore strategic investment opportunities in Indonesia’s digital economy.

“Some of the companies that have expressed interest include Nvidia, Amazon Web Services (AWS), DocuSign, CrowdStrike, and Cloudflare,” Minister Airlangga said in an official statement issued in Jakarta on Saturday, January 24, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

The meetings with company executives were held at the Indonesia Pavilion and focused on potential investments in the national digital sector.

Representatives from Nongsa Digital Park, the operator of the Nongsa Special Economic Zone in Batam, were also present, as the area is projected to become one of Indonesia’s key digital economy hubs.

“At this meeting, we discussed global digital economy trends and investment development potential in Indonesia, particularly in data centers, cybersecurity, and digital infrastructure,” Minister Airlangga said.

On the same occasion, Minister Airlangga, accompanied by the Minister of Investment and Downstream Industries and the Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, and Danantara Indonesia Chief Investment Officer Pandu Sjahrir, met with Jordanian Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh.

The discussion focused on follow-up steps regarding a memorandum of understanding between Danantara Indonesia and the Jordan Investment Fund to explore strategic investment opportunities in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The WEF Annual Meeting serves as a strategic platform for Indonesia to communicate its national economic policy direction amid global uncertainty. During the forum, President Prabowo Subianto underscored the importance of peace and stability as the foundation of economic development.

“Peace and stability are our most valuable assets. They are not luxuries, but essential prerequisites for economic growth and shared prosperity,” President Prabowo said.

Indonesia’s main agenda at this year’s WEF is President Prabowo’s special address at the Davos Congress Center, where he outlined the government’s priority economic programs and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors. ***
