BI Records USD 354.8m Foreign Capital Outflow in January

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia (BI) has reported net foreign capital outflows from the Indonesian financial market totaling IDR 5.96 trillion (USD 354.8 million) during the January 19–22, 2026 transaction period.
BI’s Executive Director of Communications Ramdan Denny Prakoso said the outflows consisted of IDR 2.67 trillion from the stock market, IDR 1.44 trillion from government securities (SBN), and IDR 1.85 trillion from Bank Indonesia Rupiah Securities (SRBI).
As of January 22, net foreign capital inflows since the beginning of the year were recorded at IDR 8.02 trillion in the stock market and IDR 1.89 trillion in SBN. In contrast, the SRBI market saw a net outflow of IDR 2.67 trillion.
Indonesia’s five-year credit default swap (CDS) premium stood at 73.28 basis points (bps) on January 22, rising from 70.86 bps on January 15.
The rupiah opened slightly stronger on Friday, January 23, at IDR 16,850 per US dollar, compared with IDR 16,880 at the close of trading on Thursday, January 22.
Meanwhile, the US dollar index (DXY) weakened to 98.36 at the close of trading on January 22. The DXY measures the dollar’s performance against six major currencies: the euro, Japanese yen, British pound, Canadian dollar, Swedish krona, and Swiss franc.
The yield on 10-year SBNs remained stable at 6.33 percent on Friday, compared with 6.32 percent the previous day. In contrast, the yield on 10-year US Treasury Notes rose to 4.245 percent at the close of trading on Thursday.
