RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has partnered with the Indonesian Tax Consultants Association (IKPI) to provide free education, consultation, and direct assistance for small business owners across the country. The initiative is designed to help entrepreneurs meet their tax obligations without fear or confusion.

Temmy Satya Permana, Deputy for Small Business at the Ministry of MSMEs, said the government’s objective is to expand the tax base “organically.”

He explained that by helping businesses scale up, gain legal status, and integrate into professional supply chains, tax compliance will naturally improve through better bookkeeping rather than by raising tax rates.

“When MSMEs have upgraded, have legal business records, are integrated into the supply chain, and implement proper bookkeeping, tax compliance will grow naturally without increasing the tax burden,” Temmy said in Jakarta on Thursday, January 22, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

He emphasized that the ministry’s involvement reflects the government’s commitment to supporting the growth and development of MSMEs. By offering the necessary assistance, the ministry aims to ensure that entrepreneurs can fulfill their tax obligations accurately, easily, and fairly.

The collaboration with IKPI, which brings together thousands of professional consultants across Indonesia, focuses on three main service areas.

The first is education and consultation, which provides entrepreneurs with updated information on tax regulations and highlights incentives available to small businesses.

The second is documentation assistance, helping business owners organize and manage their tax records to meet legal standards.

The third is audit representation, ensuring that entrepreneurs receive expert guidance and professional support if their businesses are selected for a formal tax audit.

Temmy noted that the program seeks to eliminate the psychological barriers many small business owners face when dealing with tax authorities. With professional guidance, entrepreneurs are expected to concentrate on productivity and competitiveness rather than administrative concerns.

“This is the essence of fiscal justice that we want to build together, creating a tax system that supports growth, provides certainty, and strengthens the role of MSMEs as the backbone of the nation’s economy,” Temmy concluded. ***
