KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian Ministry of Industry is accelerating the finalization of the Indonesia–United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Programme for Country Partnership (IUPCP) 2026–2030, building on the achievements of the 2021–2025 framework.
The new program aims to drive green industry transformation, strengthen competitiveness, and support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Discussions on the IUPCP 2026–2030 took place during a bilateral meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, between the Ministry’s delegation and UNIDO senior officials, including Deputy Director-General Ciyong Zou.
Indonesian Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza underscored the strategic importance of collaboration with UNIDO in meeting Indonesia’s Net Zero Emissions (NZE) target by 2060, with the manufacturing sector set an earlier goal of NZE by 2050.
“Programs such as the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Program (GEIPP) and the Global Greenchem Innovation and Network Program (GGINP) have had a tangible impact on the industrial sector during 2021–2025,” Faisol said, as quoted on the Trade Ministry’s website on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
Five industrial estates, namely Batamindo, MM2100, KIIC Karawang, Medan Industrial Estate, and Deltamas, have been designated as pilot projects for the second phase of GEIPP.
The partnership’s scope will be broadened to cover standardization, certification, downstream development, global supply chains, digital transformation, human resource development, and regional industry growth.
The Ministry is also promoting the establishment of an Eco-Industrial Park (EIP) Center and exploring collaboration through the BRICS Center for Industrial Competencies (BCIC).
Faisol emphasized that green transformation is vital for long-term sustainability and competitiveness, adding that the program should extend beyond Java to ensure equitable benefits nationwide. Such distribution, he noted, is key to encouraging regional industry players to participate in the green agenda.
To support this transition, the Ministry is finalizing regulations for green industrial area transformation, ensuring the sustainability of standards and certification. “Through collaboration with UNIDO, Indonesia wants to guarantee that the green industrial transition benefits both communities and businesses,” Faisol said. ***
