KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian Air Force's commitment to supporting national food security is continuously realized through the use of productive land in its ranks. El Tari Air Force Base carried out the third phase of planting lamuru corn varieties on 1 hectare of land, Wednesday (18/6/2025).
This planting was led directly by the Commander of El Tari Air Force Base, First Marshal TNI Djoko Hadipurwanto accompanied by the Chairperson of PIA Ardhya Garini (Air Force Wives Union) Branch 14 / D.II Lanud El Tari, Mrs. Nila Djoko Hadipurwanto.
In a press release received by RRI VOI on Sunday (29/6/2026), Lamuru corn variety was chosen because it is adaptive to dry land, resistant to environmental stress and it has high yield potential. The planting system used is monoculture with a spacing of 75 x 20 cm, to optimize plant population and maintain soil nutrient balance.
