KBRN, Jakarta: Sutan Sjahrir Air Base, Padang, hosted the 2025 West Sumatra Paragliding Jamboree on May 17–18. The event took place in Gunung Bungsu, Taeh Bukik, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra.

It aimed to develop young paragliding athletes and promote West Sumatra’s aerospace sports tourism potential. The event attracted enthusiasts and local tourism supporters.

The jamboree reflected the AMPUH spirit—Adaptive, Modern, Professional, Superior, Humanist—promoted by the Indonesian Air Force. These values guide efforts to advance aerospace sports in Indonesia.

In a press release received Monday (19/5/2025), the Air Force Information Service shared key messages from event organizers. The statement highlighted sports development and tourism synergy as core goals.

Colonel Sani Salman Nuryadin led the jamboree as Commander of Sutan Sjahrir Air Base and FASI West Sumatra. He emphasized the dual mission of talent regeneration and regional connectivity.

“This jamboree builds community bonds and discovers young athletes with national and international potential,” said Colonel Sani Salman Nuryadin.

He noted that the event also fosters collaboration across the sports and tourism sectors in West Sumatra. The jamboree offers strategic value for regional development.
