KBRN, Jakarta: The investment agreement for the Saguling Floating Power Plant Project was signed in Jakarta, on Tuesday (29/4/2025). The project was supported by international investors and financial institutions such as DEG from German, PROPARCO from France, and Standard Chartered Bank from Great Britain.

Quoted from the webpage of Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the floating solar power plant in West Java will have a capacity of 92 MWp (Megawatt peak). This power plant is predicted to increase solar power production in the country for around 13 percent.

In his remarks during the signing event, the Cooordinating Minister for Economy Airlangga Hartarto said the project that will mobilize some USD 60 million for Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) Indonesia is expected to increase the fund for accelerating the inclusive energy transition.

"This is a symbol of collaborative spirit among the govenrment of Indonesia, international community, and the private sector to accelerate the transition towards clean energy while encouraging an inclusive and sustainable economic growth," said Minister Airlangga.

Meanwhile, French Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Penone said France actively keeps supporting energy transition in Indonesia through JETP. UK Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor Leste Dominic Jermey said that the energy transition process in Indonesia keeps showing development, and the UK is committed to support it.
