Defense Minister Sjafrie and Italian Ambassador Strengthen Cooperation

KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesian Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin met with Italian Ambassador to Indonesia H.E. Roberto Colaminè at the Ministry of Defense office in Jakarta, Thursday (17/4/2025). The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation between Indonesia and Italy.
During the meeting, they discussed enhancing maritime sector collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region, finalizing the Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA), and furthering defense industry cooperation between Leonardo and PT LEN. Minister Sjafrie also acknowledged Italy’s support through the delivery of the Morosini Class ship.
The Minister expressed hope for Italy's active participation in Indo Defense 2024, scheduled for June 2025, emphasizing the joint commitment to enhancing interoperability and national defense independence. Minister Sjafrie was accompanied by the Secretary General, the Inspector General, and the Head of the Ministry of Defense during the meeting.
