KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian government hopes that the 37th Joint Commission Meeting for the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific (CAP) and the UN Tourism Commission for South Asia (CSA) meeting in Indonesia can provide a new approach and innovation for the tourism sector in facing global challenges. Deputy of Resources and Organization of the Indonesian Tourism Ministry, Martini M. Paham, Thursday (17/4/2025) said that the meetings highlighted the importance of collaboration from all stakeholders in developing the tourism sector.

She said that all parties must share experiences and knowledge on various matters related to the tourism sector in order to fully understand the challenges currently being faced.

"And we can also learn from each other in terms of how is the effective way, what is the most potential, what is it, good side that we can develop together as the region, as the UN Tourism Member State in the region," she said during an interview in the VOI Talk program over RRI Voice of Indonesia in Jakarta.

She added that during the two days meetings, all State members and participants highlighted solutions to face global challenges. Some of important result was the need to find market diversification policies, including to facilitate visa program.

In addition, the Meetings also highlighted the importance of bilateral and regional cooperation on tourism sector. The Meetings also discussed about the incentive on tourism investment, tourism resilience and sustainable strategy.

Martini stated that sustainability has become shared goal for all member States as the benefit will be taken not only for peoples in this era but also by generations after.
