RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Culture held the 2026 Commemoration Ceremony of Pancasila Sanctity Day at the Pancasila Sakti Monument in Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta, on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Carrying the theme “Pancasila as the Unifying Force of the Nation Toward a Sovereign, Just and Prosperous Indonesia,” the ceremony was led by President Prabowo Subianto as the ceremony’s inspector.

As part of the ceremony, Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) Sultan B. Najamudin, recited the Pancasila text, while Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) Ahmad Muzani read the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution. Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) Puan Maharani then read and signed the pledge as part of the commemoration.

Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, said the theme of the 2026 Pancasila Sanctity Day is highly relevant to Indonesia’s journey amid rapid global changes. He said developments in digital technology and artificial intelligence, geopolitical dynamics, climate change, disinformation, and various forms of polarization are among the challenges facing Indonesia.

“Pancasila places belief in God as its moral foundation, humanity as its guiding principle, unity as its strength, deliberation as the path toward togetherness, and social justice as our shared aspiration,” Fadli said in a cultural address delivered through the Ministry of Culture’s YouTube channel. He emphasized that these values continue to accompany Indonesia’s journey and remain relevant in shaping the country’s future.

Fadli said Indonesia continues to move toward its aspirations of becoming a sovereign, just, and prosperous nation. He explained that these aspirations are pursued by enabling Indonesia to determine its own future, providing opportunities and benefits for all Indonesians, and utilizing the nation’s potential and resources for the people’s welfare.

“The foundation of all these aspirations is unity,” Fadli said. He explained that Indonesian unity grows from the ability to preserve the country’s diversity of ethnic groups, regions, languages, religions, beliefs, customs, and traditions within a shared national identity.

Fadli added that Pancasila serves as a common ground that unites Indonesia’s diversity amid rapid changes in global civilization. He also noted that Indonesia has significant strengths, including abundant natural resources, a strong younger generation, cultural diversity, and the values of Pancasila that have united the nation throughout its history.

The 2026 Pancasila Sanctity Day ceremony was attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, ministers and deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, leaders of state institutions, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, representatives of the Indonesian Police, the Jakarta provincial government, families of the Revolutionary Heroes, and representatives of friendly countries. The commemoration was also enlivened by performances from the choir of SMK Negeri 2 Cibinong and the EDCO (Esemka Dua Cibinong Orchestra), which presented a selection of national and regional songs.

Through the commemoration of Pancasila Sanctity Day, Fadli expressed hope that the occasion would strengthen national unity, preserve Indonesia’s diversity, and foster optimism about the country’s future. “With Pancasila, we look toward a sovereign, just, and prosperous Indonesia,” he stressed.
