RRI.CO.ID, Magelang - Established in 2008 by local entrepreneur Titin, Sania Batik has grown from a modest Islamic fashion shop into one of Magelang’s (Central Java) leading batik centers, blending cultural preservation with community empowerment.

The enterprise offers a comprehensive range of textiles, including hand-drawn (tulis), stamped (cap), combination, and contemporary batik, featuring distinct regional motifs inspired by Borobudur Temple reliefs, stupas, Bodhi leaves, and the contours of Mount Pring. Beyond its signature cultural patterns, Batik Sania has gained acclaim for its inclusive and flexible employment model.

To support local working mothers, Titin allows experienced home-based female artisans to execute intricate waxing (canting) and fabric-cutting tasks from their residences. Operating under a customer-focused kudu bisa (must be able to) philosophy, the workshop supplies diverse market segments, including university and civil service uniforms, runway fashion designers, and tourist groups coordinated by travel agencies.

Backed by the National Craft Council (Dekranasda) and regional trade exhibitions, the Magelang-based micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) continues to broaden its distribution network across national markets.

Local business leadership and community artisans emphasized that combining flexible working conditions with custom manufacturing capabilities is key to preserving traditional craftsmanship while sustaining regional economic independence.

"We allow mothers with families to take waxing or fabric-cutting tasks home, the goal is to enable them to earn an independent income without neglecting their domestic responsibilities at home," Titin said on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

She highlighted the operational mindset driving the business's market expansion across institutional and fashion sectors. "Our principle in fulfilling client orders is kudu bisa, whatever the challenge, whether custom orders for exhibitions or official institutional uniforms, we strive to deliver the best so that Magelang's signature batik becomes widely recognized," Titin added.
