RRI.CO.ID, Rantau - The Tapin Regency Administration in South Kalimantan has highlighted the inclusion of the Tapin Art Fest 2026 into the Ministry of Tourism's national event calendar, Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN), as a strategic milestone to elevate regional tourism competitiveness and catalyze the local creative economy.

The festival's inclusion in KEN validates the national appeal of Tapin's performing arts and cultural traditions. Held in Rantau, the event opened with the traditional manapak mayang ceremony.

Beyond its national event listing, Tapin Art Fest has also secured official Intellectual Property (IP) rights certification through assistance from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law in South Kalimantan, establishing a clear legal identity for the festival.

Local authorities emphasized that the festival serves a dual function: stimulating micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and regional art communities through increased tourist traffic, while acting as an educational venue for the younger generation to preserve South Kalimantan's ancestral traditions.

Regional leadership highlighted that national backing and intellectual property protection require high-quality, sustainable event management backed by active civic participation.

Tapin Regent Yamani emphasized the responsibility that comes with national recognition. "This is not merely an achievement, but a mandate to continuously present a festival that is creative, sustainable, and delivers a tangible impact on increasing tourist visits and community economic growth," he said in Rantau on Sunday, August 2, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Yamani also stressed the importance of securing intellectual property rights for the festival's long-term legacy. "The IP certificate serves as an essential foundation to strengthen the identity of Tapin Art Fest as a regional cultural agenda that possesses value, legal standing, and competitiveness, allowing it to be continuously developed in the future, Tapin Art Fest is not only entertainment, but also an educational space for the younger generation to know and love regional culture while strengthening the cultural identity of Tapin Regency," Yamani noted. ***
