RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Toadore Festival Vol. III is promoting cultural collaboration and regional creative economy development. The initiative was discussed during an audience meeting in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Vice Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, appreciated the festival initiated by Tidore students in Yogyakarta. She said the event can become a platform to promote culture and local creative potential.

Irene said student initiatives like Toadore Festival can represent their hometowns and communities. She highlighted the festival's potential to create a creative trip experience that brings visitors closer to local culture.

“For me, this is a good initiative from students. This can become an extension of their cities or villages. This festival is expected to become a platform for creating creative trips to Tidore. Creative trips provide added value because they encourage people to come, learn, understand, and love the region,” she said.

She explained that creative trips can strengthen regional-based creative economy development. Through authentic experiences, visitors can interact with creative economy players and support local economic growth.

Toadore Festival Vol. III carries the theme “Tidore Welcomes Yogyakarta: From the Spice Islands to the Cultural City.” The festival will take place on October 15–17, 2026, at Amphitheater Teras Beskalan, Teras Malioboro 1, Yogyakarta.

The event will feature a National Creative Economy Seminar, Nusantara Art Stage, Creative Talkshow, and Nusantara MSME Harvest Market. These activities aim to expand market access for regional creative products, including culinary, craft, and fashion sectors.

Creative Program Steering Committee of Toadore Festival Yogyakarta, Fando, said the festival has been held regularly since 2023. He explained that Yogyakarta was chosen because it serves as a cultural meeting point for diverse Indonesian communities.

The festival name comes from the old Tidore language, Tuadore, meaning “I have arrived.” Through the festival, organizers aim to introduce Tidore culture as part of Indonesia’s diversity to wider audiences.
