RRI.CO.ID, Malang – Tong Tong Night Market 2026 is set to return as part of the 2026 Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN). Marking its 10th edition, the cultural and culinary festival will take place from July 30 to August 2, 2026, at Taman Tjerme, The Shalimar Boutique Hotel Malang, under the theme "Harmony of Taste, Creation, and Creativity."
Tong Tong Night Market is a cultural and culinary festival inspired by the Tong Tong Fair in the Netherlands, which has been held since 1959. Over the years, the event has evolved into a platform that brings together culture, cuisine, local communities, and creative industry players in Malang, making it one of the city's most anticipated annual festivals.

This year's edition adopts the Punakawan theme, representing the values of wisdom, togetherness, and simplicity. The theme serves as the guiding concept for a variety of festival programs that combine entertainment with cultural education. Visitors can enjoy dozens of Indonesian culinary stalls, MSME bazaars, cultural performances, community activities, and creative workshops, including Punakawan painting, weaving, Malangan mask coloring, coffee painting, recycled fabric macramé making, and batik coloring.
According to a press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Tuesday, July 28, Kartika Chandra Hapsari, Chairperson of Tong Tong Night Market 2026, said the festival's decade-long journey demonstrates that culture can continue to thrive without losing its identity.
"Tong Tong Night Market is more than just a culinary festival. It is a collaborative space that brings together culture, creativity, local communities, MSMEs, and the public in a warm and meaningful experience. As we celebrate our 10th edition, we aim to present a festival that not only entertains but also leaves lasting memories, keeps culture alive, and contributes positively to tourism and the creative economy in Malang," Kartika said.
She added that the theme "Harmony of Taste, Creation, and Creativity" reflects the spirit of collaboration that has been the festival's defining strength over the past decade. It also reinforces its role as a gathering place for the public, MSMEs, artists, and creative communities.
During its previous edition, Tong Tong Night Market attracted more than 20,000 visitors, featured over 50 tenants, and involved dozens of arts and cultural communities. The achievement has encouraged the organizers to continue developing the festival as one of Malang's leading cultural tourism attractions while strengthening the region's tourism and creative economy.
