RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – France and Indonesia have officially launched PINTU Focus Week 2026 to strengthen bilateral fashion collaboration through cultural and creative exchanges, according to a press release received on Tuesday, 21 July 2026. Running from 22 to 29 July in Jakarta, the flagship event marks a major milestone in the France–Indonesia Year of Innovation 2026.
Led by the Embassy of France in Indonesia-Institut français d'Indonésie (IFI), LAKON Indonesia, and the JF3 Fashion Festival, the initiative supports over 120 designers through mentoring, international mobility, and market access. This partnership aligns directly with the Borobudur Declaration on a Joint Cultural Strategy, which was signed by President Prabowo and President Macron in May 2025.
For the first time, this fifth edition introduces the Franco-Indonesian Residency Program, featuring joint runway collections titled "GARUDA" and "AU LARGE" at the JF3 Fashion Festival on 23 July. Designers from both nations spent months exploring traditional Indonesian textiles, such as batik and handwoven fabrics, across Jakarta, Mojokerto, and Lombok.

Alongside the residency collections, the event features dynamic fashion showcases from emerging international talents, including students from École Duperré Paris and independent labels such as Louise Marcaud. A public seminar addressing sustainability, traditional craftsmanship, and textile innovation is also scheduled for 28 July at IFI Jakarta.
The event further expands its comprehensive mentorship program by connecting emerging designers with leading industry professionals from both countries. Expert mentors guide participants through portfolio reviews and consultations focused on branding, global entrepreneurship, and sustainable design strategies.
Supported by an extensive public and private network, including the Institut français de Paris and Enamoma School, PINTU reinforces long-term institutional ties. These joint efforts aim to build durable economic pathways and international visibility for independent fashion creators across both regions.
By bridging institutions, creative talent, and commercial markets, PINTU continues to serve as a sustainable platform for cultural innovation. The initiative demonstrates how international artistic cooperation can build long-term economic and cultural growth between the two nations.
