RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Letvuan Orobusto Coffee Festival will be one of the featured events leading up to the Meti Kei Festival 2026. The festival aims to promote Letvuan's signature coffee while strengthening Southeast Maluku's position as a tourism destination.

In an interview with RRI Voice of Indonesia in Jakarta on Thursday, July 16, 2026, Victor Emanuel Budhi Toffi, M.Par., Head of Southeast Maluku's Tourism and Culture Office and Chairman of the Meti Kei Festival Committee, said the coffee festival serves as a supporting event to enrich the region's flagship tourism festival. He noted that complementary events are essential to enhance destination promotion and attract more visitors."We have a main event we call the Festival Pesona Meti Kei, or Meti Kei Charm, but we also need supporting events such as the Orobusto Letvuan Coffee Festival," Victor said.

Victor explained that Letvuan Tourism Village was selected as the venue because it is recognized as one of Indonesia's prominent tourism villages. In addition to its tourism appeal, the village is home to Orobusto Coffee, a unique local product that has become one of its defining identities.

He said the name Orobusto reflects the coffee's distinctive characteristics, combining the qualities of Arabica and Robusta varieties. This unique feature gives the coffee a competitive advantage and strengthens its appeal as both a regional specialty and a tourism attraction."We call it Orobusto because it is a combination of Arabica and Robusta coffee, which has become very popular," he said.

Victor added that the local community has transformed the traditional practice of growing and harvesting coffee into an immersive tourism experience. Instead of simply producing coffee beans, visitors are invited to engage with the coffee-growing process while interacting with local residents and learning about Letvuan's coffee culture.

According to Victor, the Letvuan Orobusto Coffee Festival is expected to introduce Southeast Maluku's unique coffee heritage to a broader audience. The event also aims to boost tourist arrivals and create greater economic opportunities for local communities through sustainable tourism.

The Letvuan Orobusto Coffee Festival is scheduled as one of the pre-events leading up to the Meti Kei Festival 2026, which will take place in October 2026. Through the festival, the Southeast Maluku Government hopes to elevate the international profile of Letvuan Tourism Village and its signature Orobusto Coffee while showcasing the region's rich cultural and natural heritage.
