RRI.CO.ID, Yogyakarta - INACRAFT Festival 2026 aims to expand Indonesian handicrafts into the global market. The festival opened in Yogyakarta on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

The five-day event is held at Jogja Expo Center until July 19. It promotes creative economy growth based on Indonesia's cultural heritage.

Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, said the festival creates opportunities for Indonesian artisans. It also strengthens sustainable trade partnerships with international buyers.

He said Yogyakarta's batik, wood carvings, silverware, and pottery offer unique cultural value. The governor believes the festival strengthens Yogyakarta's position as a global crafts, culture, and tourism destination.

Sri Sultan welcomed international delegates attending the festival from various countries. He said handicrafts serve as a universal language connecting people across borders and cultures.

Yogyakarta is proud to be part of this long journey and remains committed to strengthening its position as a leading destination for handicrafts, culture, and tourism at the global level. To all international delegates, welcome to Yogyakarta. We hope your visit will become not only a trade opportunity, but also a meaningful cultural experience,” he said.

The festival carries the theme "Hamemayu Hayuning Bawana: Cultural Crafts for World Harmony." Sri Sultan said the philosophy reflects harmony, respect for tradition, and stronger international cooperation through culture and trade.

INACRAFT Festival also serves as a business platform connecting artisans, small businesses, designers, buyers, government institutions, and industry partners. Business networking, educational forums, cultural performances, and craft exhibitions are expected to strengthen the global competitiveness of Indonesian handicrafts.
