According to him, the event serves as a tribute to Ali Sadikin’s service as Jakarta governor from 1966 to 1977. Ali placed culture at the heart of urban development.
“His most important achievement was in the fields of culture and the arts, one of which is right here, at Ismail Marzuki Park. Whoever serves as governor of Jakarta will certainly have to continue what was inherited from Pak Ali,” he said.
The 100th anniversary commemoration of Ali Sadikin at TIM in Central Jakarta will run for a week, until 14 July 2026.
The program features a range of activities, including a public-space art exhibition, short film workshops, music performances, an art market, and public discussions.
