RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Resonanz Children’s Choir (TRCC) has added another stellar achievement to Indonesia's cultural portfolio by winning the absolute top title at the 30th Béla Bartók International Choir Competition, held in Debrecen, Hungary, from July 2 to 5.

Under the baton of maestro Avip Priatna, the Indonesian ensemble secured the coveted Grand Prize, solidifying its standing in the global choral arena and punching a ticket to one of Europe's most exclusive choral championships next year.

According to a press release received on Monday, July 6, 2026, TRCC dominated the rigorous competition by placing first in the Children's Choir Category with an impressive 95.5 points. The group continued its winning streak by seizing first place in the Free Program Category with a near-perfect score of 98 points.

Adding to the delegation's success, conductor Avip Priatna was honored with the special Conductor Prize for Outstanding Interpretation of Contemporary Pieces and Expressive Choral Sounding.

Avip acknowledged that performing contemporary 20th and 21st-century repertoire in such a high-caliber competition presented an extraordinary technical hurdle for the young vocalists.

"I am very proud to see the hard work of these children. Not only did they manage to overcome a high level of musical difficulty, but they were also able to deliver it beautifully on an international stage," Avip said, as quoted by Antara.

Indonesian Ambassador to Hungary Penny Dewi Herasati, who attended the Grand Prize final round in Debrecen, lauded the choir's flawless execution, noting that their performance demanded immense discipline across vocal technique, dynamics, articulation, and overall musicality.

"When watching TRCC's performance as the opening act, I initially imagined a choir that would produce a massive, round, and full sound," the ambassador remarked.

"However, when TRCC began to sing, what was heard instead was a light, crystal-clear children's voice, delivered with immense talent and high skill," she added.

By claiming the overall championship title at the Béla Bartók competition, TRCC has officially qualified for the highly competitive European Grand Prix (EGP) for Choral Singing final, which will be staged in Arezzo, Italy, in 2027. ***
