RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's Ministry of Culture is strengthening the role of the Pancasila Sakti Monument as a center for historical education by revitalizing several buildings and facilities within the complex. The initiative aims to create a more representative museum while deepening public understanding of the nation's history and the values of Pancasila.
According to a press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia in Jakarta on July 2, 2026, Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, inspected the ongoing revitalization of the Pancasila Sakti Monument complex. The visit was intended to ensure that the project remains on schedule while improving museum services without compromising the authenticity of its collections or the site's historical character.
Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, said the revitalization focuses not only on upgrading physical infrastructure but also on improving the presentation of historical narratives so they are easier for visitors, particularly younger generations, to understand. He emphasized that museums play a strategic role in connecting the public with Indonesia's historical journey and strengthening awareness of the nation's founding values. "This museum is currently being revitalized so that visitors can explore its collections more easily and comfortably," Fadli said.
During the visit, Fadli toured the Museum of the Treachery of the Indonesian Communist Party, the relic room displaying the original clothing and personal belongings of the Revolutionary Heroes, and the diorama hall of the Paseban Museum, which is also undergoing revitalization. He noted that these collections form an important part of Indonesia's collective memory and serve as valuable educational resources for the public.
The minister added that the monument preserves historically significant collections, including dioramas depicting major events following Indonesia's independence, such as the 1948 and 1965 rebellions, as well as authentic artifacts recovered from the Lubang Buaya site. According to him, preserving these collections is essential to safeguarding the nation's historical memory and passing its values on to future generations.
Fadli also stressed that understanding history is fundamental to strengthening national character and reinforcing Pancasila as the ideological foundation of the Indonesian state. "Pancasila is both the guiding principle and the force that unites the Indonesian nation. Through this museum, we are reminded that betrayal of Pancasila must never happen again," he said.
The Ministry of Culture is continuing the revitalization of several buildings and facilities within the Pancasila Sakti Monument complex to provide a more representative, comfortable, and adaptive historical learning environment. The initiative is expected to further strengthen the museum's role as an educational institution that fosters historical awareness while reinforcing national identity and the values of Pancasila for future generations.
