RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Culture is revitalizing approximately 159 cultural assets, including heritage sites and cultural hubs, despite budget-efficiency measures. Minister of Culture Fadli Zon emphasized that the revitalization program remains essential to meet public needs for literacy spaces and cultural hubs.
“Even though we are implementing budget efficiency measures, we can revitalize around 159 cultural assets, whether they are cultural heritage sites or cultural hubs,” Minister Fadli said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
He noted that one of the assets being revitalized is Ahmad Tohari’s House of Literature in Banyumas, Central Java. The library has long served as a place for students, academics, and the public to read, discuss, and deepen their understanding of literature.
“The Ahmad Tohari House of Literature not only preserves the legacy of a literary figure. It has also become a learning space and a source of inspiration for the public,” Minister Fadli said. He praised Ahmad Tohari’s contribution in creating a vibrant literacy space through the House of Literature and Library.
“I hope the Ahmad Tohari House of Literature and Library will continue to thrive as a library and cultural hub that fosters ongoing cultural activities,” Minister Fadli concluded. (Gusti Panji)
