RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Culture launched the Kita Cinta Lagu Anak (KILA) 2026 program in Jakarta on Monday, 22 June 2026, as part of its efforts to strengthen the country’s children's song ecosystem. The initiative includes a Children’s Songwriting Competition and a Children’s Singing Competition.

The launch was held online through the Ministry’s social media channels and KILA’s digital platforms. The program aims to encourage the creation of more high-quality children's songs while nurturing young musical talent across Indonesia.

Minister of Culture Fadli Zon said KILA serves as an important creative platform for children to express their talents through music. He noted that children's songs play a significant role in instilling values, building character, and nurturing a sense of cultural identity.

“I invite all Indonesians to be bold in creating, singing, and showcasing their best talents through KILA 2026. Let us work together to bring more Indonesian children's songs to life for the future of our nation,” Fadli said during the launch.

Ahmad Mahendra, Director General of Cultural Development, Utilization, and Empowerment, said KILA is an essential part of efforts to build a sustainable cultural arts ecosystem. According to him, the program not only promotes the creation of quality children's songs but also expands public appreciation of music as a medium for cultural education.

“Through children's songs, we are not only creating works of art, but also instilling cultural values, character, and a love for Indonesia,” Mahendra said. He added that the government is committed to ensuring that children's songs continue to be produced, distributed, and appreciated by the public.

Meanwhile, Director of Film, Music, and Performing Arts Irini Dewi Wanti encouraged children from across the country to participate in KILA 2026. She said the program helps address the limited production and appreciation of Indonesian children's songs while supporting the development of young performers.

Registration for KILA 2026 is open from 22 June to 31 August 2026, and is accessible to participants from all regions of Indonesia. Following the registration period, the program will continue with curation and audition stages before concluding with the KILA 2026 Grand Final and Performance on 18 September 2026.

In addition to the competitions, KILA 2026 will feature promotional and educational activities, including performances by KILA Ambassadors, children's music video productions, and digital campaigns. Through the program, the Ministry of Culture hopes to encourage the creation and wider use of children's songs as part of preserving and promoting Indonesia’s cultural heritage.
