RRI.CO.ID, Depok - A student-led cultural delegation from the University of Indonesia (UI) is gearing up to represent the nation on the European stage, utilizing traditional performing arts as a dynamic diplomatic tool to foster cross-cultural dialogue.

A total of 37 dancers and musicians from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Dance Community (Komunitas Tari FISIP UI / KTF UI) Radha Sarisha have been officially selected to embark on the European Cultural Mission 2026. Scheduled from July to August 2026, the delegation will perform across a series of international folklore events under the banner of the prestigious Festival du Sud in France and Spain.

Project Officer for the European Cultural Mission KTF UI 2026, Andine Clorinda, emphasized at the UI Depok campus on Friday, June 19, 2026, that performance art remains an extraordinarily effective medium for broadcasting a nation's true identity to the world. She noted that every synchronized movement, musical rhythm, and intricate costume narrates a story about Indonesia's vibrant, evolving diversity, kept alive by its youth.

"The European Cultural Mission 2026 demonstrates our commitment to continue bringing Indonesian stories to the world stage. We believe that art and culture are universal languages capable of connecting people and introducing national identity in a meaningful way," said Andine, as quoted by Antara.

The upcoming tour serves as a direct continuation of KTF UI's long-standing track record of showcasing Indonesian traditional arts to international audiences. By combining regional dance styles with live traditional orchestration, the university students aim to do more than present the richness of Nusantara heritage, they intend to build an open space for cross-cultural exchange alongside participants from various nations.

To mark their imminent departure, the troupe will host a formal send-off showcase on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 7.00 p.m. local time at Balai Purnomo, University of Indonesia.

The public performance serves as a full-dress rehearsal for the contingent before they head to Europe, offering the domestic public an exclusive look at the exact repertoire curated for the international festival circuit.

The showcase is structurally organized in a theatrical format, seamlessly weaving distinct traditional Indonesian dances and musical arrangements into a single, cohesive artistic narrative. Through this presentation, the audience is invited to witness how ancestral heritage is translated by the younger generation into a performance that is both communicative and globally relevant.

The Gelar Pamit event is completely open to the general public, serving as a platform for civic participation in supporting Indonesia's cultural soft power and diplomacy. Tickets for the main event can be secured directly through the organization's portal at bit.ly/BeliTiketMainEventGelpam2026. ***
