RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Forum Silaturahmi Keraton Nusantara (FSKN) has partnered with several prominent artist collectives to launch a painting exhibition titled Revitalisasi Keraton Nusantara (Revitalization of the Archipelago’s Palaces). Opened on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Antara Heritage Center (AHC) in Jakarta, the exhibition aims to reintroduce the historical and cultural significance of Indonesia's royal courts to the modern generation.

The event is a collaborative effort featuring 44 painters from the Islamic Arts and Culture Association (HSBI), the Jakarta Painters Association (Hipta), and the Archipelago Painters Association (Aspen). Running until April 28, the showcase uses visual art to advocate for the physical and conceptual restoration of palaces across Indonesia.

“We forget that the Archipelago was once a center of civilization and culture, because of the changing times, we have forgotten our foundations,” said Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dedi Yusmen, during the opening ceremony, as quoted by Antara.

He emphasized that local wisdom has historically proven to be a precise and contextual system that eventually formed the basis of the Republic of Indonesia.

General Chair of FSKN, AA Mapparessa, clarified that the movement is not about restoring the political power of ancient monarchies. Instead, it focuses on optimizing the historical assets of these sultanates to benefit modern society, particularly through tourism and cultural education.

“What we are doing is not restoring the glory of past kingdoms or palaces, but how to optimize the assets in each kingdom and sultanate so they can become a source of foreign exchange that helps the community,” Mapparessa explained.

He further noted that FSKN acts as a strategic partner to the government, serving as a "cooling radiator" to help resolve local conflicts through cultural mediation. The exhibition stands as a bridge, aligning deep-rooted palace traditions with contemporary technology and globalized lifestyles to ensure that Indonesia's cultural identity remains intact. ***
