The Participants of Adu Bedug Festival in Bekasi Enjoy the Event Enthusiastically

RRI.CO.ID, Bekasi – The 19th Bedug and Dondang Competition Festival by 2026 in Bekasi was a lively event filled with a spirit of togetherness. The two-day event, held from Saturday to Sunday, April 18 to 19, 2026, served as a platform for preserving local arts and culture, involving all neighborhoods in the Mustika Jaya area.
Various distinctive artistic performances were showcased at the festival, with a strong emphasis on Betawi culture. These ranged from ondel-ondel parades and dondang performances to the drum-beating competition, which was the main attraction. The public appeared enthusiastic about participating in every part of the event, particularly during the climax held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, which was attended by approximately 12,000 residents of Bekasi and the surrounding areas.
It was also attended by Mayor of Bekasi, Tri Adhianto. He expressed his appreciation for the community’s spirit in preserving and maintaining local culture.
He noted that this festival is not merely entertainment but also a means of strengthening community bonds. “This festival is proof that the community still loves and preserves local culture. This is our strength in building community spirit and regional identity,” Tri said, as quoted from a written press release.
He also added that activities like this need to be continuously supported and developed so that the younger generation can get to know and love their own local culture. “We want the younger generation not to forget their local culture. Through activities like this, they can learn about, get to know, and take pride in the cultural heritage we possess,” he said.
The 19th Adu Bedug and Dondang Festival has become one of the cultural events that the community looks forward to every year. In addition to providing entertainment, this event also strengthens the values of togetherness, mutual cooperation, and love for local culture.
The Bekasi City Government hopes that similar events can continue to be held and grow, so that they can become a source of cultural pride and attract the attention of the wider public.
