RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian batik house Danar Hadi unveiled its latest collection, Sekar Setaman, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design to reaffirm its commitment to preserving and innovating Indonesia’s cultural heritage.

Batik is an Indonesian traditional textile made using a wax-resist dyeing technique, featuring patterns rich in cultural meaning and regional identity.

According to a press statement received in Jakarta on Saturday, February 7, 2026, Managing Director Diana Santosa said the collection draws inspiration from the metaphor of a flower garden, where diverse blooms grow together in harmony.

“Through the theme Sekar Setaman, we are not only celebrating the visual elegance of various flowers, but also conveying a deeper message about harmony in diversity,” Diana said, as quoted by Antara.

The collection reflects a rich blend of character, color, and philosophy, mirroring life’s diversity as expressed through batik motifs. Featured floral patterns include Seruni (Chrysanthemum), Anggrek Bulan (Moon Orchid), Kenanga, and Mawar (Rose), each carrying symbolic meanings rooted in Indonesian culture.

The Seruni motif represents resilience, optimism, and happiness, while Anggrek Bulan symbolizes timeless elegance, purity, and sincere love. Kenanga conveys nobility of character, loyalty, and inner peace, and Mawar embodies beauty, romance, and affection.

“Sekar Setaman” combines traditional batik techniques, batik cap, batik tulis, and tulkom (a combination of hand-drawn and stamped methods), applied to premium materials such as silk crepe, Thai silk, organza, and ATBM handwoven fabric.

A palette of soft solid and pastel tones enhances the collection’s refined aesthetic, highlighting the intricate details of each motif while maintaining a gentle and elegant impression.

Diana noted that the fusion of tradition and modern design reflects the spirit of Indonesian women, resilient, graceful, and deeply meaningful. “This collection is a tribute to local wisdom and to every woman who wears batik with pride,” she said.

She added that “Sekar Setaman” demonstrates that batik continues to evolve without losing its cultural roots.

“Batik never stops growing. By combining deep-rooted traditions with contemporary fashion expression, we create garments that are not only visually beautiful, but also soulful and storytelling,” Diana concluded. ***
