Garis Poetih Festival Strengthens Indonesian Fashion Industry Ecosystem

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, officially opened the Garis Poetih Raya Festival 2026 in Jakarta, Thursday, 29 January 2026. He assessed the festival as a strategic platform to strengthen the national fashion subsector, especially ahead of the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
In his remarks, Minister Teuku Riefky, stated that the Garis Poetih Raya Festival 2026, initiated by designer Ivan Gunawan, serves not only as a space for appreciating the works of Indonesian designers, but also plays an important role in expanding market access for players in the national fashion industry.
“The Garis Poetih Raya Festival 2026, initiated by designer Ivan Gunawan, is not only a platform to appreciate the creative works of designers, but also contributes to expanding market access for national fashion industry players, especially ahead of the Eid al-Fitr momentum,” Minister Teuku Riefky stated.
He emphasized that the fashion subsector is one of the main contributors to Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem. Among other creative economy subsectors, fashion plays a significant role in creating added value as well as strengthening exports of the national creative industry.
As a form of concrete support, the Ministry of Creative Economy also presented an EKRAF Booth as part of the Garis Poetih Raya Festival 2026 series. The booth serves as a promotional showcase for fashion brands fostered by the Ministry, as well as a medium for direct interaction between industry players and festival visitors.
The EKRAF Booth features the participation of several supported fashion brands, including Aruna Creative and Tarasari Indonesia, which promote values of sustainability, preservation of Nusantara traditional textiles, and the strengthening of women’s roles in the fashion industry.
Teuku Riefky underscored the importance of hexahelix collaboration involving the government, industry, academia, communities, and the media to drive Indonesian fashion to become the new engine of growth that is competitive in both domestic and global markets.
The Garis Poetih Raya Festival 2026 marks its third edition since it was first held in 2023 and 2025. Taking place from 29-31 January 2026, the festival reaffirms the sustainability of the platform with consistent support from the Ministry of Creative Economy in strengthening the national fashion subsector.
