KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian Ministry of Creative Economy reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration between local, national, and global musicians through the Creative Acceleration program. Director of Music at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Mohammad Amin, told RRI Voice of Indonesia during the “Kita Indonesia” – Local Musician Award, Musicpreneur 2025 event on Thursday (4/12/2025) at the Abdurrahman Saleh Auditorium, RRI Jakarta.
The program is designed as continuous assistance for music communities across various regions in Indonesia. “Yes, we indeed have a program called Creative Acceleration. It is a mentoring program. Collaboration related to intellectual property and distribution cannot be done through hit-and-run programs. What we need is continuous mentoring,” Mohammad Amin conveyed.
He further explained that the mentoring includes support for production and introducing musicians to the music industry. He cited an example of music communities in Papua who receive guidance ranging from music video production and funding assistance to connecting them with publishers and labels, as many local musicians are not yet familiar with the roles of these institutions.
“For example, there are music communities in Papua. We assist them from music video production, providing funding support, to helping find publishers and labels because many still do not understand their roles,” Amin mentioned.
He stressed that intellectual property protection remains a key focus of the government. Through this mentoring, regional musicians are expected to gain a safer and more competitive position in the music industry.
He also highlighted the strength of Indonesian music on the global stage, including the success of songs like Lathi and the rise of eastern Indonesian music trends blending reggae, disco, and EDM. Amin explained that Indonesia’s rich traditions and diverse genres are valuable assets for expanding international music collaborations.
