RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office in Bali deported 18 foreign nationals between September 21 and 27 for immigration violations, including ten individuals implicated in illegal prostitution activities.
Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Muhamad Novyandri, confirmed on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, that the ten foreign nationals were apprehended during a joint operation with the Bali Regional Police on September 17.
"In addition to indications of visa misuse through involvement in prostitution, five of them were also found to have overstayed their permits," Novyandri said in an official statement, as quoted by Antara.
Further deportations targeted six individuals for visa overstays. Four failed to pay required fines for overstaying under 60 days, while two exceeded their permitted stay by more than 60 days.
Immigration authorities also deported a Russian national, identified as VL, who unlawfully worked as a motorcycle instructor while holding a Remote Worker Limited Stay Permit (ITAS). Additionally, a Slovakian national holding an ITAS was deported for failing to update personal data following a passport renewal. All 18 deported foreign nationals have been recommended for inclusion on Indonesia's entry ban list.
Novyandri stressed that routine monitoring operations will continue across high-density tourist hubs such as Canggu and Seminyak to maintain public order and law enforcement under the Directorate General of Immigration's directives. He urged all visiting foreign nationals to respect local regulations, monitor permit expiration dates, and ensure their activities match their authorized visa categories. ***
