RRI.CO.ID, Bandarlampung - Bandarlampung Immigration officials are calling for stronger community vigilance and cross‑agency cooperation in monitoring foreign nationals, following the deportation of 15 individuals for immigration violations between January and August 2026.
“Up to August, we deported 15 foreigners for breaching immigration rules,” Head of Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement at Bandarlampung Class I Immigration Office, Washono, said on Monday, September 14, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
He explained that common violations included overstaying visas, misusing permits, disturbing public order, and lacking valid documents. “All deportations were carried out in accordance with prevailing laws,” he added.
Washono stressed that oversight cannot be handled by immigration alone, highlighting the role of the Foreigners Supervision Team (Timpora), which brings together multiple government agencies and community participation.
“We continue to strengthen Timpora because monitoring foreigners requires collaboration across institutions and vigilance from the public,” he said.
Residents are urged to report the presence of foreign nationals in their neighborhoods to immigration authorities for document verification. “We hope the public will immediately inform us if they encounter foreigners, so we can check their documentation,” Washono noted. ***
