RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Jakarta is stepping up its vision for sustainable urban living with seven new transit‑oriented development (TOD) projects prepared by PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) across six key locations.
The initiative aims to create integrated city spaces that blend property development with enhanced connectivity.
“Aligned with the governor’s mandate on TOD expansion, PT MRT Jakarta is preparing seven projects in six TOD areas,” Director of Business Development, Farchad Mahfud, said during the Indonesia–Japan Infrastructure and Transportation Forum and Business Matching 2026 in Tokyo, as quoted by Antara.
The projects include Kali Besar Heritage, XGL Mixed‑Use, Ultimate Development Blok M, Lebak Bulus Park and Ride, Thamrin Asset Development, Extended Concourse Bundaran HI, and Dukuh Atas Pedestrian Deck. Each is designed to strengthen interconnections and foster sustainable urban growth.
Farchad highlighted investment opportunities tied to Jakarta’s TOD expansion, showcasing facilities developed between 2019 and 2026. These include pedestrianization of Kendal Tunnel, sidewalk revitalization along Sudirman and Thamrin, the Dukuh Atas multi‑purpose bridge linking LRT and KCI stations, and the Dukuh Atas Transport Hub.
The Tokyo forum gathered 50 representatives from 36 Japanese companies and institutions, discussing government policy support, regulatory frameworks, and investor perspectives on infrastructure financing.

Organized by the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Indonesian Embassy in Japan, the event promoted curated strategic projects from state‑owned and regional enterprises.
This year, Indonesia’s delegation presented investment opportunities across five sectors: toll roads, ports and logistics, railways and TOD, property, and steel fabrication facilities.
PT MRT Jakarta joined other state‑owned enterprises to showcase projects aimed at attracting capital expenditure and building mutually beneficial partnerships.
The delegation also conducted a study visit to Takanawa Gateway, a Japanese TOD model where mixed‑use development is directly connected to the station, serving as inspiration for Jakarta’s future projects. ***
