RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenekraf) and the Bungo Regency Administration in Jambi have agreed to step up collaboration to develop local creative subsectors, empower regional talent, and accelerate Bungo's transformation into a designated Creative Regency.

The commitment was formalized during a bilateral meeting between Creative Economy Minister and Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) Teuku Riefky Harsya and Bungo Regent Dedy Putra at the Autograph Tower in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 22, 2026.

"Every region possesses unique creative economy potential. Our responsibility is to assist local administrations in mapping this potential so it can become a driver of economic growth, create quality jobs, and improve public welfare," Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said during the audience, as quoted on the ministry's official website.

During the discussions, Minister Teuku Riefky outlined the 2026–2045 Creative Economy Master Plan (Rindekraf) as the blueprint for national growth, presenting key acceleration initiatives such as Creative Village Activation, Creative Hub Activation, and Creative by Indonesia.

"We want to encourage the emergence of local heroes from every region. Creative economy actors who have developed need to be accelerated through curation, capacity building, market access, and financing so they can scale up and become economic drivers in their respective areas," the Minister said.

The strategic partnership will focus on concrete joint initiatives in Bungo Regency, including the development of community-based creative spaces, curation of local brands, and downstream commercialization of local intellectual property, such as regional history and folklore, into high-value products within comics, film, animation, and digital content subsectors.

Welcoming the central government's initiative, Bungo Regent Dedy Putra highlighted the regency's rich potential across culinary arts, handicrafts, fashion, music, performing arts, film, and digital content as a new engine for regional growth.

"We hope the Ministry of Creative Economy can support creative economy development in Bungo Regency through training, ecosystem strengthening, intellectual property rights facilitation, promotion, and various programs that can boost the competitiveness of regional creative actors," Dedy Putra remarked. ***
