RRI.CO.ID, Brebes - The Central Java Provincial Administration has officially initiated the construction of an integrated mega-dairy farm and processing plant valued at IDR 1.2 trillion (approx. USD 74 million) in Karangbale Village, Larangan Subdistrict, Brebes Regency.

The project, developed by PT Global Dairi Bersama across a 710-hectare site, is slated to accommodate up to 30,000 dairy cattle.

Once operational, the complex will feature end-to-end facilities, including a modern milk processing plant, a feed manufacturing center, and an advanced waste treatment plant designed to convert manure into biogas and organic fertilizer.

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi highlighted the historic scale of the investment following the groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, July 20, 2026.

"This is the largest dairy farm and milk processing factory in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Central Java is set to achieve greater food self-sufficiency regarding national milk production," Governor Luthfi stated, as quoted by Antara.

Luthfi noted that the investment anchors Central Java's position as the primary hub for the national dairy industry. Central Java currently has a dairy cattle population of approximately 77,566, producing around 78,465 tons of milk annually against a regional demand of 94,730 tons.

"Our local demand will easily be met by this investment. Previously, we still required around 22,000 tons of milk annually sourced from other provinces. Once this facility is fully operational, it will cover the milk deficit for both Central Java and the national market," Luthfi added.

Attending the event, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that national milk consumption is surging due to expanding public nutrition initiatives. He praised the business model introduced by PT Global Dairi Bersama as a viable blueprint for national self-sufficiency.

"Looking at the operational model implemented by PT Global Dairi Bersama, I am confident that Central Java, and Indonesia as a whole, will swiftly achieve its milk self-sufficiency targets," Minister Amran affirmed.

The groundbreaking ceremony was jointly conducted by Governor Luthfi, Minister Amran, House of Representatives (DPR) Commission IV Speaker Siti Hediati Soeharto, Brebes Regent Paramitha Widya Kusuma, and Saviora Group CEO Ihsan Mulia Putri, marking a major step forward for Indonesia’s agricultural infrastructure. ***
