RRI.CO.ID, Negara - Amid continuing conflicts in various parts of the world, a female cyclist from Iran has chosen to voice a message of peace through a cross-border journey. After cycling thousands of kilometers across Asia, Arezoo Eskandari, arrived in Bali on Monday, 6 July 2026, and took time to visit several cultural sites in Jembrana Regency.

Arezoo entered Indonesia in June 2026 after covering a journey of about 8,000 kilometers from her home country. While in Indonesia, she has planned a one-month route from Jakarta across Java Island to Bali before continuing her expedition to South Asia.

In addition to being a cyclist, Arezoo is also known as the Tourism Ambassador of Isfahan City, Iran. Her journey carries a slow life campaign, while also promoting peace, interfaith friendship, and Iranian culture to the world.

According to Arezoo, the expedition also aims to challenge negative perceptions that have long circulated about her country.

“I started my journey from Iran, then passed through China, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, and now I am in Indonesia. After Bali, I will continue to India, Nepal, and Pakistan. I want to convey that Iran is a peaceful country and encourage people around the world not to be afraid to visit Iran,” she said.

While in Bali, Arezoo was accompanied by officials from the Bali Cultural Heritage Preservation Center under Indonesia’s Ministry of Culture. In Jembrana Regency, she visited Rumah Panggung, a traditional Muslim community house in East Loloan Village, which is one of the region’s historical and cultural icons.

She also visited Puri Agung Negara, a historic building that once served as the administrative center of the Jembrana Kingdom and the residence of Bali’s first governor, Anak Agung Bagus Sutedja.

For Arezoo, visiting Puri Agung Negara offered a meaningful experience, as it reflects the historical harmony between Hindu and Muslim communities that has existed since the Jembrana Kingdom era.

The Iranian cyclist is scheduled to remain in Bali until midweek. While on the Island of the Gods, she will visit a number of tourist and cultural destinations while introducing Iranian culture to the people she meets along the way.

After completing her journey in Bali, Arezoo will continue cycling to India, Nepal, and Pakistan to carry on her peace mission, which has already taken her across several countries in Asia. (Annaila Azzahra-EN)
