RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Environment Agency is holding the Jakarta Eco Future Festival (JEFF) 2026 on 3–4 July at Jakarta Provincial Hall. The event is organized to strengthen public engagement in addressing waste management and air quality issues.
Carrying the theme Real Action, Noticeable Impact, the festival is designed as a collaborative space for administration, community groups, businesses, and residents. The collaboration aims to encourage behavior change toward a cleaner, more sustainable Jakarta.
Head of the Jakarta Provincial Environment Agency, Dudi Gardesi, said environmental challenges cannot be solved by administration policy alone and require active participation from all segments of society.
“Protecting the environment is not just the administration's duty but a collective movement. Through JEFF 2026, we want to invite residents to come, see, discuss, and take inspiration to start real actions in their immediate surroundings,” said Dudi in Jakarta on Thursday, 2 July 2026.
Over two days, JEFF 2026 will present several programs emphasizing education and tangible environmental actions. One highlight is the launch of an Early Warning System (EWS) on the Jakarta Air Website, which is expected to improve public access to faster air quality information.
The festival will also feature the presentation of an Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) Record Certificate for the mass production of eco-enzyme and the inauguration of the reactivated Waste Station at the Provincial Hall. Other programs include environmental forums, a green innovation expo, career talks, short film screenings, and workshops on the circular economy.
Interactive activities include the exhibition Not About Trash and the talk show Caring for Jakarta, Starting from Our Steps. Training sessions will cover used cosmetic packaging management, making accessories from plastic waste, producing reusable cloth menstrual pads, and drawing activities for children.
According to Dudi, JEFF 2026 is intended to build awareness that environmental stewardship can begin with simple, consistent actions by each resident.
“We invite all residents to come to JEFF 2026. Let’s make the Provincial Hall a place to meet, learn, and start small steps whose impact can be significant for Jakarta’s future,” he said.
Through the festival, the Jakarta Provincial Environment Agency hopes to increase public involvement in waste reduction and air quality improvement movements. The initiative aims to foster a culture of sustainable living at home, in schools, workplaces, and communities across Jakarta. (Annaila Azzahra-EN)
