RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Central Sulawesi Provincial Administration and the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) have activated the Joint Affairs Funding (PUM) budget scheme to accelerate restoration of vital infrastructure in Nokilalaki Subdistrict, Sigi Regency.
This tactical funding synergy aims to complete gabion installations and restore the clean-water network for 9,609 affected residents before the emergency response period ends.
Head of BNPB’s Data, Information and Disaster Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday, 25 June 2026, that repairs in Sigi Regency are being carried out with support from the Central Sulawesi PUM budget.
“Sigi is an earthquake-affected area that has been followed by more than a thousand aftershocks since the main quake on 16 June 2026,” he said, as quoted by Antara.
Abdul Muhari explained that, as part of disaster risk mitigation, a joint team has cleared accumulated wood and rocks from recent landslides on Mount Nokilaha, which had been blocking water flow from the dam into the Kamarora River. The removal of the blockage aims to reduce water buildup and minimize the risk of flash floods or material flows during rain. The action followed directives from BNPB Head, Suharyanto, during a site visit on Friday, 19 June 2026.
For basic services, joint teams continue to standby health services at posts, monitor residents undertaking self-evacuation, provide emergency tents for worship, and ensure adequate logistics during the emergency response, which remains active at least until 30 June 2026.
To strengthen field emergency support, BNPB also distributed a third tranche of aid consisting of equipment and logistics to Kodam XXIII/Palaka-Wira, Korem 132/Tadulako, and the Central Sulawesi Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD). The third-stage aid includes two field kitchen vehicles, 100 hand-held radios, six refugee tents, two trail motorcycles with alkon pumps, 300 food packages, 200 family tents, 300 mattresses, and 300 blankets.
According to preliminary data updates, 3,600 households (9,609 people) in Sigi Regency were affected by the magnitude-6.7 earthquake. All injured victims have received medical treatment and have recovered.
Preliminary damage assessments show 1,979 houses lightly damaged, 277 houses moderately damaged, and 277 houses severely damaged. Religious facilities suffered damage to 110 buildings, comprising 29 mosques and 81 churches.
Other damaged infrastructure includes 19 office buildings, such as the Regent’s office and Regional Development Planning, Research and Development Agency (Bapperinda), along with 35 school buildings and 10 community health centers (puskesmas). Additionally, two traditional houses, two clean-water networks, and six other public facilities are currently awaiting technical structural verification. ***
