RRI.CO.ID, Banda Aceh – The Aceh Provincial Administration is accelerating the post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction of agricultural land to safeguard food security and stimulate economic recovery in affected regions.
Aceh Regional Secretary, M. Nasir, said that a total budget of IDR 380,033,300,000 (USD 21,851,914.75) has been allocated for these strategic initiatives. The funding covers a range of activities, including land optimization, paddy field rehabilitation, and the development of supporting infrastructure such as irrigation systems and farm roads.
"The Aceh Administration is currently focused on expediting every phase, from planning to construction and land cultivation, ensuring that disaster-affected agricultural land can return to productivity as soon as possible," said Nasir on Sunday, March 3, 2026, as quoted by infopublik.id.
For the land optimization program targeting paddy fields with light damage, a budget of IDR 155,658,250,000 has been earmarked across 16 regencies and cities, covering 27,071 hectares. The planning phase, spearheaded by local universities has already covered 12,205 hectares, meeting roughly 45 percent of the total target.
Subsequent construction for land optimization, with an allocation of IDR 124,526,600,000, will commence once planning is finalized. This will be followed by land cultivation efforts valued at IDR 24,363,900,000, managed by local municipal and regency administrations.
For moderately damaged land, the administration has allocated IDR 65,236,050,000, to rehabilitate 4,393 hectares across five regencies. Construction progress has currently reached 3,981 hectares, carried out through a collaboration between farmer groups and the Indonesian Military.
Infrastructure development in the irrigation sector also continues to move forward. The administration has planned 641 pump irrigation units across 16 regencies/cities with a budget of IDR 98,073,000,000, with 70 units (3.49 percent) already under construction.
Meanwhile, the development of 149 piped irrigation units in 13 regencies/cities, budgeted at IDR 14,006,000,000, has reached 24 percent completion. Furthermore, the construction of 45 conservation structures with a budget of IDR 5,400,000,000, is currently in the preparation stage.
Regarding tertiary irrigation networks, work on 300 planned units with an IDR 30,000,000,000, budget has reached approximately 8 percent. The development of 106 farm road units (JUT), backed by IDR 11,660,000,000, is also in the early stages with an 8 percent completion rate.
Nasir emphasized that the Aceh Administration is strengthening coordination with local administrations, universities, the Indonesian Military, and various stakeholders to ensure all programs meet their targets.
"We are optimistic that the strong synergy between the administration, academics, the Military, and the community will allow these programs to be completed on schedule. This will ensure that disaster-affected agricultural land can once again be utilized optimally by our farmers," he concluded.
The Aceh Administration hopes this acceleration will not only restore the land but also drive agricultural productivity and improve the welfare of farmers throughout the affected areas. ***
