BPJS Visit Signals Nusantara Expansion Plan

RRI.CO.ID, Nusantara - Head of BPJS Kesehatan (Indonesia’s public health insurance agency), Prihati Pujowaskito, visited health facilities in East Kalimantan on Sunday, 3 May 2026. The visit included the central hospital (RSUP) in Nusantara.

He inspected the RSUP the Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN) to check its readiness. The goal was to see how healthcare services can support the growing population in the new capital.

The visit was welcomed by Head of IKN, Basuki Hadimuljono and his team. Both sides discussed plans to strengthen healthcare access and insurance services in the area.

Prihati said BPJS Kesehatan is considering building a new service office in Nusantara. This office would make it easier for residents to access public health insurance services.

“We plan to build a special service office in Nusantara to expand access for participants,” Prihati said.

He added that in-person services are currently handled in nearby areas. Currently, the nearest BPJS office is in Penajam Paser Utara. This highlights the need for more local services as the city continues to grow.

Basuki expressed appreciation for the visit and BPJS Kesehatan’s support. He hopes strong cooperation will continue as Nusantara develops further.

The team also visited several key locations, including the planned BPJS office site, the national mosque, and the state palace. These visits showed how public facilities are being prepared in the new capital.

Prihati praised the development of Nusantara. He said that Indonesia can be proud of its new capital, which is modern, well-planned, and supported by strong healthcare infrastructure.
