RRI.CO.ID, Bekasi - A train accident occurred at Bekasi Station on Monday evening, April 27, 2026, involving a car struck by a Commuter Line train, followed by a collision between two trains in close succession.

Initial reports indicated that a car was struck by train PLB 5181 at the JPL 85 crossing. The incident took place on the downstream track, immediately alerting officers on duty. Train Control Officers (PPKP) then instructed Train 4 to proceed with caution through Bekasi Station.

On the same track, train PLB 5568A was ahead of Train 4 and had stopped normally at the station. Since Train 4 was a high‑speed intercity service, it was unable to brake abruptly and collided with the rear of the stationary Commuter Line train.

The incident marked two accidents in quick succession, with the train collision being the most serious.

Several passengers were reported injured, with some unconscious during evacuation. Rescue efforts were intensive, involving officers and local residents, and continued into the night.

One of the surviving passengers, Heri, said panic broke out immediately after the collision. “The CommuterLine was destroyed at the rear. We were all immediately evacuated by officers,” he recalled at the scene.

As of around 9:50 p.m. Jakarta time, evacuation efforts were still ongoing to ensure all passengers were safely removed from the site. Authorities have not yet released official information on casualties or the exact cause of the accident, and investigations are continuing. ***
