BNPB Head Suharyanto conveyed that this initial funding focuses on light and moderate structural damage, specifically targeting residents who sustained material losses.

“We have disbursed IDR 31.2 billion for the affected residents today,” Suharyanto confirmed on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, noting that the assistance is prioritized for homes with minor to intermediate damage.

A portion of the funds, totaling IDR 16.7 billion (USD 970,365), has been allocated to 1,098 households categorized under light damage. Meanwhile, IDR 14.7 billion (USD 854,000) was distributed to 493 households whose properties sustained moderate damage.

He reassured residents who have not yet received funds that they remain integrated into the recovery plan. “Those who have not yet received aid are simply awaiting their turn,” he said, guaranteeing that all affected citizens will be accounted for.

The BNPB has urged local administrations to expedite the completion of victim data, as accurate documentation is essential for accelerating the distribution process. The agency highlighted that the efficiency of the disbursement relies heavily on the validity of submitted data to ensure the aid reaches the correct recipients.

To further streamline the recovery effort, the BNPB is providing administrative assistance in the affected regions.

“We are ensuring that on-site guidance is provided so that aid can be distributed immediately,” Suharyanto added, reaffirming the agency's commitment to accelerating post-disaster handling. (Annaila Azzahra/Bambang MBKA)
