RRI.CO.ID, Palangka Raya – Challenging terrain and limited access did not deter the Central Kalimantan Police medical team from serving residents in remote areas. Bhayangkara Hospital Level III Palangka Raya carried out its Mobile Health Service (Yankesling) in Danau Tundai, Sebangau Subdistrict.

To reach the location, the Mobile Health Team had to navigate river routes using wooden boats (kelotok). Despite the demanding journey, their determination remained strong to ensure healthcare reached even the most isolated communities.

Upon arrival, residents showed great enthusiasm. Dozens lined up to receive free medical services, ranging from general check-ups and consultations to medication distribution and health education.

Head of Bhayangkara Hospital Level III Palangka Raya, Adj. Sr. Com. Anton Sudarto, emphasized that the program reflects the police’s commitment to bringing public services closer to the people.

“This is the presence of the police not only in maintaining security but also in providing humanitarian services in healthcare,” he said on behalf of Central Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Iwan Kurniawan, Monday, April 13, 2026.

In addition to medical care, the team educated residents on healthy lifestyles and environmental hygiene to prevent disease.

The Yankesling program will continue on a regular basis as part of Bhayangkara Hospital’s dedication to communities, particularly those in remote areas with limited access to health facilities. (Annaila Azzahra/Sri Wahyuni)
