RRI.CO.ID, Nusantara - Indonesia’s future capital, continues to strengthen its public health agenda through a blood donation drive and digital diabetes screening program. The initiative reflects efforts to build a preventive and technology-driven healthcare ecosystem.

The program was organized by the Nusantara Capital Authority in collaboration with Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), the Indonesian Indigenous Entrepreneurs Association (HIPPI) East Kalimantan, regional hospitals, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Balikpapan, and the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) Sepaku branch.

Held at Coordinating Ministry Office 3 in the Nusantara Core Government Area on Friday, 10 April 2026, the event also introduced the DoScreen application. The platform supports early detection of diabetes mellitus through digital-based screening.

The activity was open to the public and attracted hundreds of participants, including government employees, construction workers, and local residents. The strong participation highlighted increasing awareness of preventive healthcare.

Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, expressed appreciation for all stakeholders involved in the program. He emphasized the importance of collective contribution in strengthening health resilience.

“I would like to thank all parties involved. May this activity be an act of kindness for all of us, and today we hope to gather at least 300 blood bags,” he said.

A lecturer from Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Mahendro Kusumo, representing the Master’s Program in Hospital Administration, highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration in building a healthy capital city.

“Synergy between government, academics, healthcare facilities, and community organizations is the key to creating a healthy and competitive capital city,” he said.

The initiative underscores Nusantara’s commitment to building an inclusive, preventive, and technology-based health ecosystem. It also supports the long-term vision of a sustainable and resilient future capital city.
