RRI.CO.ID, Nusantara - The Nusantara Capital City Agency (OIKN) has implemented a strict sustainability and decorum protocol following a massive surge in visitors to the new capital’s core area during the Eid al-Fitr holiday. After seeing a peak of 62,500 visitors on Sunday, March 23, 2026, authorities are now focusing on maintaining the city's environmental standards and administrative dignity as thousands more are expected to arrive through March 29.

As reported by Antara, to preserve the formal atmosphere of the nation's new administrative center, officials have established a specific dress code for those wishing to enter the State Palace. Visitors are required to wear closed-toe shoes rather than sandals and are strictly prohibited from wearing shorts, T-shirts, or sleeveless tops.

These regulations sit alongside broader efforts to manage the high volume of people exploring iconic landmarks such as the Ceremonial Plaza, the Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) training center, and the Sepaku Semoi Dam.

Beyond attire, the OIKN is championing a "zero-waste" approach at the IKN State Mosque. Tourists are encouraged to bring reusable bags to store their footwear before entering the main prayer hall, a move designed to eliminate single-use plastic while keeping the sacred space clean.

The Special Staff for Public Communication and Spokesperson for the IKN Authority, Troy Pantouw, emphasized that these measures are essential for the long-term vision of the city.

"Using reusable bags to store footwear is a small step that can have a significant impact. We invite all visitors to participate in maintaining cleanliness and supporting the sustainability principles applied in IKN," remarked Troy in Nusantara on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

He noted that while various destinations like the MBH Retention Basin and Kusuma Bangsa Park remain open, capacity limits are being enforced to ensure public comfort.

As the holiday period continues, the OIKN remains on high alert for sustained crowds at the Central Government Core Area (KIPP). Troy underscored that these simple habits, ranging from proper dress to waste reduction, are vital for a positive collective experience.

"The use of reusable bags for storing footwear is a small step that can provide a big impact. We invite all visitors to join in maintaining cleanliness and supporting the principles of sustainability implemented in IKN," he concluded. ***
