RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The National Police, through the Cartenz-2026 Peace Task Force, ensured that this year’s Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Central Papua proceeded smoothly. Security measures were carried out through patrols in several busy areas.
“This security effort demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that the public can perform their religious duties safely and solemnly. The National Police are present not only as security guards, but also as partners with the community,” said Cartenz-2026 Peace Operation Chief Ins. Gen. Faizal Ramadhani, in a press statement received in Jakarta on Saturday, March 21, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
Faizal explained that patrols targeted several strategic locations, including Sinak Market and Ar Rochim Mosque. He added that personnel also mingled with the community by interacting directly and joining Eid al-Fitr prayers at these sites.
Deputy Chief of Operations, Sr. Com. Adarma Sinaga, said that this humanistic approach was key to maintaining security and public order. He emphasized that the direct involvement of officers within the community made the police presence more tangible and beneficial.
Adarma confirmed that all Eid al-Fitr activities in Central Papua had taken place safely and without incident. He added that personnel would remain on standby at various locations to ensure the public could continue their activities comfortably throughout the festive period. ***
