RRI.CO.ID, Nusantara - The Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN Authority) organized an Affordable Food Movement and Market Operation in several districts surrounding the Nusantara area to enable residents to buy essential food supplies at lower prices ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026. The program was held from 4 March to 11 March 2026, covering four locations in the surrounding region: Handil Baru Barat Village in Samboja District, Samboja Barat District, Muara Jawa District, and Argomulyo Village in Sepaku District.

Through the initiative, residents were able to purchase various staple goods at prices below the market rate, including rice, cooking oil, vegetables, fish, chicken, eggs, and subsidized LPG cylinders. The program aimed to help ease household expenses while also supporting price stability and food supply ahead of the Eid holiday period.

Director of Food Security at the IKN Authority, Setia Lenggono, encouraged residents to take advantage of the initiative, noting that it was designed to support communities during an important festive period.

“We hope residents can benefit from this opportunity. By providing essential goods at more affordable prices, we aim to assist families to prepare for Eid al-Fitr with greater peace of mind,” Lenggono said.

The affordable market program received a positive response from local communities. Sri, a resident of Samboja Barat District, said the initiative significantly reduced the cost of daily necessities.

“The price of LPG here is much cheaper. Usually, the lowest price for a 3-kilogram cylinder outside is around Rp30,000, but here it is only Rp20,000. That really helps,” she said.

In Muara Jawa District, another resident, Meri, expressed hope that similar programs could be held more regularly.

“If possible, we hope this kind of affordable market can be held more often. It really helps the community because the prices are lower than those in the market,” she said.

Through the Affordable Food Movement and Market Operation, the IKN Authority reaffirmed its commitment to supporting communities around the Nusantara development area, not only through infrastructure development but also by promoting social welfare and strengthening local food security.

The authority also emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with local governments and other stakeholders to ensure stable food prices and the availability of safe, affordable, and sustainable food supplies for communities in the region.
