RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - In a major push to bridge the educational gap, the Jakarta Provincial Administration has officially commenced the first phase of the 2026 Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) Plus program. The initiative allocates a substantial budget of IDR 1.62 trillion (USD 95.6 million).

As reported by Antara, the initiative aims to provide a robust safety net for 707,477 students across the capital, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their academic journey.

The distribution of these essential educational funds began on Thursday ,March 5, 2026, according to Head of the Jakarta Provincial Education Agency, Nahdiana. The program spans the entire academic spectrum, covering students from elementary and middle schools to high schools, vocational institutions, and specialized learning centers such as the Learning Activity Center (SKB) and Special Education Schools (SLB).

Nahdiana emphasized that the KJP Plus program is a cornerstone of the provincial administration’s strategy to guarantee educational access for students from underprivileged backgrounds. By providing these funds, the administration aims to help families meet the fundamental costs of learning, from school supplies to daily educational needs.

“Through the KJP Plus program, the Jakarta Provincial Administration hopes that students will remain enthusiastic about their studies, improve their achievements, and have the same opportunities to achieve a better future,” said Nahdiana during the announcement in Jakarta on Friday, March 6, 2026.

To maintain the integrity of the massive expenditure, the provincial administration has implemented a rigorous system of periodic data updates and verification. This ensures that the assistance reaches those who truly need it.

"The distribution of KJP Plus Phase I 2026 funds is being carried out in stages," added Nahdiana, highlighting the organized approach taken to manage one of the city's most significant social welfare investments. ***
