RRI.CO.ID, Pangkalpinang - The Bangka Belitung Law Ministry Regional Office is partnering with two legal aid institutes (LBH) to bolster 393 villages and rural villages legal aid posts across the province's seven regencies and cities, enhancing access to justice for underserved communities.

As reported by Antara, the initiative targets improved reporting, governance, and service delivery. This effort ensures transparent and accountable legal support for rural residents.

"Strengthening legal aid posts is not just about administration, but part of the accountability and transparency of legal aid services to the community," said Head of the Regional Office, Johan Manurung, in Pangkalpinang on Monday, February 23, 2026.

Johan noted that the collaboration with LBH Law-Aware Villages and Subdistricts (PDKP) and LBH HAM Pancasila aims to optimize legal services for villagers. This partnership also ensures that all service reports are documented in a systematic and measurable manner.

"This collaboration is expected to improve the quality of legal assistance while ensuring every service report is documented systematically and measurably," he added.

Head of the National Legal Development Agency (BPHN) Working Team, M. Ariyanto, underscored the effort's role in fostering synergy for smoother operations.

"This activity is part of the government's commitment to expanding access to justice for underprivileged communities, in line with Point 7 of the President's Asta Cita on Legal Reform and the mandate of Article 28D Paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution on equality before the law," remarked Ariyanto.

The province has established all 393 posts, offering free, accessible legal consultations, village-level dispute mediation, and grassroots advocacy.

"The presence of these legal aid posts is a concrete manifestation of the state's commitment to the public. This initiative ensures that citizens receive legal services that are easy, fast, and free of charge," he said.

Ariyanto emphasized their frontline function. "Legal aid posts are expected to serve as the first gateway for resolving conflicts before they escalate to court." ***
