RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Metro Jaya Police's Water and Air Police Directorate (Ditpolairud) launched swift rescue operations in Kebon Pala, East Jakarta. They evacuated babies and vulnerable residents as floodwaters surged to nearly 120cm on Friday afternoon, February 20, 2026.

Community Unit (RT) 13/Neighborhood Unit (RW )04 Melayu Hamlet Chairperson Sanusi reported waters rising since 2 am Jakarta time, affecting RT 11-13 in RW 04 and RT 05, 06, 09 in RW 05, with 96 households impacted in his area alone.

"This morning, then at 1 p.m. Jakarta time, the water has now reached 120 centimeters—over one meter," he said, as quoted by Antara.

"No residents have evacuated yet, everyone's mostly on the second floor. So belongings and staying space are still available upstairs," Sanusi added.

No government aid has arrived yet, residents meet food needs independently. "No. No aid has arrived yet," confirmed Sanusi.

Floods disrupt Ramadan sahur meals, forcing boat trips for food. "Sahur is somewhat hindered too, though some used boats this morning to buy sahur food, but worship still runs smoothly," he explained.

Ditpolairud Chief, Sr. Com. Mustofa, detailed morning Search and Rescue (SAR) deployments. "Since morning, the Ditpolairud SAR Team has deployed to the site and swiftly assisted affected residents," he remarked.
